Police respond to assaults, theft, nudity

During the week of May 25 - June 1, the Westman RCMP dealt with 76 police activities.

May 25 - RCMP responded to a theft of a truck from a business in Virden. The vehicle was equipped with a GPS unit and was tracked to a residence in Miniota. The vehicle was recovered, and a 27-year-old male from Miniota is facing charges of theft of truck.

May 26 - RCMP responded to a report of a domestic assault in Sioux Valley. Police were unable to locate the suspect. As a result, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 34-year-old Bradley Kendall Kennedy from Sioux Valley/Brandon. If you know his whereabouts, please phone the Virden RCMP at 204-748-2046.

May 30 - RCMP responded to a report of an assault in Virden. After investigating the matter, a 20-year-old male from Virden was charged with assault. He was released for a future court date.

May 30 - RCMP responded to a report of a domestic assault in Sioux Valley. After investigating, a 37-year-old female from Sioux Valley was charged with assault and released for a future court date.

May 31 - RCMP responded to a report of a domestic assault in Sioux Valley. Police were unable to locate the suspect. As a result, a warrant of arrest has been requested.

June 1 - RCMP responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a business in Virden. Police located the individual who was in no shape to properly care for himself. He was arrested and lodged in cells to sober up.

June 1 - RCMP responded to a report of an indecent act in Virden in which a male was leaving the confines of his residence in the nude. The investigation is continuing.

RCMP conducted 23 traffic enforcement actions during this reporting period.
