RM of Wallace-Woodworth: Bajus

Adam Bajus Kola area running for Ward 2
pdf
Bajus is a welder by trade

Ilive in the Kola area of Ward 2, where my wife Nancy and I operate Little Creek Livestock & Welding, a welding and repair shop that serves the surrounding area that has operated for the last 17 years.

I have served one four-year term on the R.M. of Wallace council where I was Deputy Reeve for part of that term. While on council, I was also the chairman for the Trans Canada West planning district and was heavily involved it getting our planning document finished for this area. After my term was over, I served on the negotiating team for CAPLA for Energy East, a pipeline that would have taken oil from Western Canada to the east for refining.

Volunteering has always been part of who I am. I have served on local boards for community and faith based boards that are involved in children’s ministries. Last year I received an award for my service in volunteer areas from our local MP, Larry Maguire.

If elected, areas I would like to serve in as a councillor would be the planning district and working at creating a healthy business community, inviting new businesses in after we make sure our local businesses have what they need to be successful.

We’ve gone through a number of challenging years but this area still has the opportunity to be successful with the right leadership. An area that concerns me would be transparency and rate payer involvement. All levels of government appear to be creating buffer zones to remove the general population from being involved in the future of the area.
