RM of Wallace-Woodworth: Canart

Clayton Canart running for reeve
Clayton Canart
Clayton Canart, an Elkhorn resident, running for reeve in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth.

I reside in Elkhorn with my wife Paula and two children Ava and Emmett. Elkhorn has been home for my entire life other than a few years we spent in Saskatoon while Paula finished her education.

I have been working with my Dad’s construction company for the last eight years in many different aspects, from the oilfield to waterworks and plumbing.

Currently I’m in the process of transitioning back into the Financial Services field.

I have been involved with the Bosshill Creek Wildlife Club and Elkhorn Chamber of Commerce prior to becoming the councillor for Ward 3, two years ago.

I have appreciated my time on council and have found it to be a very rewarding experience. I enjoy the challenge and believe that you can get out of it what you’re willing to put in. It has given me the opportunity to be involved with many different committees such as the Wallace District Fireboard, Waste Disposal, Southeast Municipal Healthcare Corporation along with others.
I have a passion for the rural area and what that includes. We are poised to face challenges in the growth of our businesses and residents. With that, we will need to work on reliable, creative ways to support, maintain and grow our businesses to provide our residents with the services and quality of life they hope for.

My hope is to be at the council table to facilitate a united group of councillors in constructive conversation for the betterment of the municipality as a whole.  I can’t promise perfection but I can promise 100 percent commitment.
