RM of Wallace-Woodworth: Val Caldwell

Ward 1 candidate
Val
Val Caldwell, farmer, wife and mother near Kenton runs for Ward 1

I have been on council 12 years, eight with the former RM of Woodworth and four with the newly amalgamated RM of Wallace-Woodworth. I am seeking re-election for Ward 1.

Aside from my Council commitments, I am a busy mum of two children, a farmer’s wife, and an Independent Consultant.

I have lived here for 18 years, and have considered it an honour to represent my community and our ratepayers around the Council table. Growing up in Brandon, it has been a steep learning curve over the years to say the least.

I have had the opportunity to sit on many committees including Fire Board, Mid-West Rec, Personnel, Heathy Stakeholders and Waste Disposal to name a few.

One of the best parts of being on council has been the opportunity to expand my experience and knowledge in so many different aspects of the daily running of the RM and the Communities within our borders. I enjoy attending meetings and conferences outside of the RM, and am extremely appreciative of the working relationship we have cultivated with our neighbouring communities whether it be through a mutual aid agreement or economic development.

If I am re-elected I plan to continue to advocate for the RM as a whole, both inside the borders of the RM and on a regional and provincial level.

I encourage all ratepayers to get to know all the candidates and to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Municipal Election – your vote matters.  I thank you for your consideration and wish all the candidates the best of luck in the election.
