The Virden Lions Club has been sponsoring the Peace Poster contest for grade seven social studies students for close to twenty years. Since this is an international contest, the first prize winner's poster goes on to further competition.
This year the theme was ''Peace Through Service'' which was accomplished by 71 grade seven students with the mentorship of Junior High Staff. The posters were judged on artistic impression, merit and the obvious use of the theme.
The Virden Lions were impressed with student behaviour and participation at the assembly.
