We asked the Grade 2s and 3s at Goulter Elementary in Virden to share the highlights of their summer and how they feel about going back to school.

Hadley, Grade 2
… going to Aspen Grove Campground and swimming with my friend Aurora and we got ice cream. The best part of going back to school is seeing my friends again.
Bentley, Grade 2
… when I went camping because I like the campfire. We roast marshmallows. The best part of going back to school is playing with my friends.
Lyndon, Grade 2
… playing with my sisters outside on the tire swing. The best part of going back to school is swinging on the swings.
Garrett, Grade 2
… going to Niagara Falls and we went to Clifton Hills. We went on the Maid of the Mist. The best part of going back to school is recess because I like playing with my friends.
Dexter, Grade 2
… camping because I biked everywhere. The best part of going back to school is recess because I play soccer.
Parker, Grade 2
When it was really hot, I played with my sister on the trampoline with the sprinkler. The best part of going back to school is recess because I talk to my friends.

… the Souris Rock Pit because it was fun and big. The best part of going back to school is my friends because they are nice.

… going camping because we got to go swimming. We got to go up the sand hill. The best part of going back to school is seeing all my friends again and more often.

… when I went to the curling bonspiel, then we went to Lilac Resort. The best part of going back to school is working. I like math.

… lighting sparklers around the campfire. The sparkles look cool. Campfires are amazing! The best part of going back to school is getting to do math. I love the adding, subtracting and multiplication.

… going to BC on a train because I got to see my auntie and uncle's wedding. And the best part of going back to school is recess because we get to play.

… when I went to Banff and Calgary. I got to see the mountains in Banff and I got to go for a hike in the mountains. In Calgary we went to the zoo. It was fun! The best part of going back to school is seeing all my friends again!

… going to the pool because I saw Nick and we talked about what grade we’re in and then he went to the middle end and I went to play with Lachlan. The best part of going back to school is math because math makes you smart.
