Every contestant got a free ice cream cone for their efforts on Oak Lake Beach, as last weekend 94 kids and adults built sandcastles and sand sculptures. The competition saw mermaid creations taking first and third spot and a hippo in second place.
Families or bubble groups worked together to maintain pandemic protocol. The results were a lot of fun on a hot day to start to the month of August. And, the winners received free mini-golf passes. The yearly event is also a fundraiser toward a planned aeration system for the lakeshore swimming area.
