The Virden Wellview Golf Club opened the doors on the new clubhouse on Friday, April 5. Some of the first customers to arrive commented on the beautiful view of the course, a much different feeling from sitting in the old clubhouse that only afforded a narrow view of the first tee-box.
Wellview Golf Club President Graham Freeman says the Official Grand Opening Day will be announced soon. “It is planned to take place very close to the two-year anniversary of the fire of 2017 that destroyed the former clubhouse.”
Wellview’s new restaurant and lounge will be open to the public full-time going forward until at least the end of the Golfing Season, says Freeman. Watch for updates on the hours of operation and additional Club information posted at the Clubhouse as well as on the Club’s Social Media pages.
Freeman expects the course itself to be open for play as soon as possible, dependent on the weather and course conditions.
“We are looking forward to an exciting season and future at our Golf Club,” says Freeman, acknowledging that community effort and funding support has brought the clubhouse to this opening date.
