The Snowbirds fly over Virden

Some were aware, some were not, but in and around Virden pockets of people gathered outdoors to watch the red and white Canadian Forces Snowbirds fly the sky-way on their way to CFB Moose Jaw, Sask. It’s an hour trip from Brandon, taking into account their descent to fly over towns along the Highway One route.

The Snowbirds left Winnipeg this morning and landed in Brandon, then departed for Moosejaw at about 1:40 p.m. which put them over Virden about 10 minutes after take-off.

This flight over the region was part of "Operation Inspiration" to boost public morale in the midst of COVID-19 limitations.

People indoors said they heard, and felt, the group of nine CT-114 Tutor jets as they passed right over town, streaming white smoke.
