Thefts reported in Virden and Ellice-Archie

During the week of July 19 to July 25, the RCMP dealt with 45 police activities including the following dispatches:

 

July 19 - to the RM of Ellice-Archie for a report of a break and enter to a residence. Several miscellaneous items were stolen totalling approximately $10,000 in value. The investigation is ongoing.

July 19 –to Sioux Valley for a report that someone had hung themselves. Upon police and ambulance attending, it was determined that there was no hanging, and that the caller had a dream.

July 20 –to Sioux Valley for a report that an intoxicated male was yelling and threw a shovel at the caller. By the time Police arrived, the intoxicated male had left the residence. An assault investigation is ongoing.

July 20 –to the Kenton Damn for a report of a possible drowning. After several hours of searching, a 52-year-old male was located deceased in the water.

July 21 –to Sioux Valley for a 911 hang up call. On call back, a female voice was heard saying “he’s coming back”. Police were able to trace the call to the location. The female complainant disclosed that she called because she was in an argument with her common law, who since left. No assault occurred.

July 21 –to Salt Lake in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of an assault that occurred at a campsite. The investigation is ongoing.

July 23 –to Reston for a report that someone’s doorbell was rang three times. Police did not locate anyone in the area.

July 23 –to the RM of Two Boarders for a report of an adult male suffering from a mental health crisis. The male was located and arrested under the Mental Health ACT. He was transported to the Brandon Hospital for assistance.

July 23 –to Virden for a report of a theft from a storage locker. It is estimated that almost $5,000 worth of items were stolen. The investigation is ongoing.

July 24 –to Virden for a report that a 5-year-old boy was found wandering in the lumber yard alone. The boys parent also reported the boy missing at the same time. The parent and child were re-united. The child was not hurt.

July 24 –to a domestic assault in Sioux Valley. Upon attending, the victim was not co-operative and the accused was no longer at the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP also responded to four false 911 calls, four false alarm calls and 10 traffic complaints during this reporting period.
