VCI drama class in costume for their theatrical roles served an elegant three-course dinner at VCI’s dinner theatre, “A Triad of Comedy”, on June 5 and 6.
Student actors under the direction of teacher Tricia Hayward had the audience in stitches at times as they performed three sketches by playwright George Baker.
VCI Band, directed by Janet Yochim produced outstanding music, giving depth to the evening.
At the close of the evening, following the performances Hayward made a number of presentations to her students, particularly recognizing the Gr. 12 students among the drama class.
Virden Music & Arts Festival awards were presented as well. Will Draper received a glass trophy, in recognition of an outstanding performance in speech arts, having received the highest mark - 99 per cent - in a monologue.
