VCI Sports – Football and Volleyball

The VCI Bears’ Football team closed out their season on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Stonewall, losing to Interlake. They had also lost to Interlake on the previous Saturday at home, in their last regular season game. This concludes the football season for this year, as we say goodbye to our senior players, including star running back/linebacker Brandon Martens.

Unfortunately, the Varsity Boys’ Volleyball Team couldn’t pull of a win at their home tournament on Oct. 26, but they gained valuable experience as a team. On Monday, Nov. 5, the Junior Varsity Boys’ team beat Killarney in the third set of their volleyball match, later losing to Boissevain in the second set of that game.

Our Varsity Girls were very successful in the tournament in Brandon this past weekend and placed third. The Junior Varsity Girls got second in the tournament in Selkirk and first in the Vincent Massey tournament in Brandon over the past two weeks.
