Visits cheer the community of Evergreen Place

Hello to all our readers. What a difference in weather since a week ago! I definitely prefer the +6 to the extreme cold temperatures of the previous weeks. We'll welcome spring when it returns on March 20.

We here at Evergreen have winter fun watching the deer along Hargrave Street, in front and also along Routledge, back of the Evergreen. I'm an early riser so I watch them walk by between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.

Does anyone have a good remedy for helping you sleep at night? I read an article to "drink a glass of milk just before bedtime, and you'll sleep for 8 hrs." I like milk so I thought that's a great remedy, I will try that. Other than buying more and more milk, it has not given me any positive results. I would like to hear about other remedies I could try.

A lady called me on Saturday and asked if I was the lady who puts reports in the paper. Why yes, I said, I am. She told me she looks forward to my news article every week. She'd seen my Valentine cookie picture and had tried the recipe that went with it, with good success. This kind of a phone call keeps a writer going. Thank you, Gail, for the encouragement!

We are happy to see Margaret Rollo home again, after spending six days in the hospital. Her cheerful nature does a lot for us here at Evergreen.

Michael Wile is back from Killarney, where he helped his daughter get ready to move to B.C. We're glad to see you back, Michael.

Marlene Balzar's brother Earl Johnson of Rosser, Man. was able to pay Marlene a short, much appreciated visit this past week.

Michelle Gabrielle of Winnipeg came to visit her mother Carol Gabrielle this weekend. She doesn’t come very often, so mother/daughter are having a good visit.

My one designated visitor, Michelle Nykoliation, is picking me up for a visit at their place in Elkhorn on the 23rd. They self-isolate like me, so I'm glad I am allowed to go visit them. One day, I hope soon, these many restrictions that keep us home, (and safe), will be lifted. But for now, let's all do our part to keep safe, for the sake of all of us!
