Walk with art at the Beach this weekend!

You know that nice, peaceful feeling you get strolling down a quiet lane in summer under the shade of big old oak trees? Does it get any better than that? Yes, it does. When you add art.

You know that nice, peaceful feeling you get strolling down a quiet lane in summer under the shade of big old oak trees?

Does it get any better than that?

Yes, it does. When you add art.

This Sunday, art comes to the beach in the 4th annual Oak Lake Beach Art Walk Show and Sale.

This blending of two great ideas happened in 2015 when a couple of Oak Lake Beach artists, Bev Karnes and Lesley Moffitt, were discussing places where they could display and sell their art and where campers, cottagers and art lovers from the region could see what was available.

Moffitt suggested developing their own venue and the Art Walk was born.

It started with five artists and has grown to 15 this year, showing a wide variety of styles and media: fibre art, wood carving, garden art, mixed media, water color, acrylics, wooden signs, Paverpol, paper, felt and alcohol ink.

“We are thrilled with the interest this has aroused in various artists in our region,” says Moffitt. Art Walk runs from noon to 3 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 5.
