Muscular Dystrophy Canada recently recognized the Wallace District Fire Department with the “Fire Department of the Year” award for Manitoba. Their award for successful fundraising efforts this year towards muscular dystrophy was presented at the WDFD Fundraising Banquet. Over the past three years, WDFD firefighters have raised $28,000 for MD through the Rooftop Campout, held every March year at Tim Hortons Restaurant in Virden. Presenting the award are Jason and Angela Cross from Brandon whose son has MD. Accepting the award is Fire Chief Brad Yochim and Brent MacDonald, the Rooftop Campout chairman.
