During the week of September 9 to 16, 2019 the Westman RCMP dealt with 74 police activities including: 

September 9 - RCMP received a report of a fraud. The victim had been sending money to persons out of province and it was believed to be a fraud. The matter is under investigation.  

RCMP received a report of a theft in Melita. The victim reported that sometime overnight a pressure washer was stolen from his garage. 

September 9 to 11 - RCMP received three reports of vehicles stolen in the Westman area. 

September 13 - In Melita, RCMP conducted a vehicle stop on an e-bike – an electric motorized scooter. A 57-year-old man was determined to be impaired by alcohol and subsequently provided two samples of breath over the legal limit. He is now facing charges of impaired driving. 

September 14 - RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance in Virden. Police determined that there had been a family dispute that had resolved and the involved parties were separated. 

Also on the 14th, RCMP responded to a domestic dispute in Sioux Valley.  A 22-year-old man was arrested and is now facing charges of assault. 

The Westman RCMP would like to remind the public that school speed zones are in effect and to watch your speed in school zones. 

Also, a reminder that there have been some vehicle thefts and items stolen out of unlocked vehicles in the Westman area. Please lock your vehicle and remove the keys.
