Kenton News by Paulette Wiens

Grey Cup pool tickets were sold to people at the Kenton Legion Br. #118 for the Grey Cup Game held Nov. 30 in Edmonton between the Calgary Stampeders and the Ottawa Red Blacks. There were four lucky winners one for each quarter. They were: Richard English, Darren Good, Garry Draper and Keith Russell.

The Kenton and Area Lions Club held a draw on Friday, Nov. 28 for Lions Party Pack/$250 Raffle for the Grey Cup. The lucky winner was Mary Ann Stevenson. Congratulations to all the winners.

Woodworth Senior Services (WSS) held a Turkey Bingo, Saturday Dec. 1 at the Kenton Memorial Hall. Eleven games were played with the final game of the night being the blackout. Pre-purchased tickets were eligible for the door prize which was a turkey. Colleen Elliott (WSS coordinator) had two other draws - one was for a jar of candy and the other one was for a jar of hard boiled eggs.

Some children and young adults were in attendance which was nice to see. Our bingo caller was Linda Kent and she asked Ricki Hill to come up and check that all the numbers were there. A canteen was provided for drinks/goodies during intermission and you could make purchases at the bake table. At the end of the evening Colleen thanked everyone for coming.
