The second week in the New Year, 2021, and the temperatures remain very mild with only a few days with a breeze, some sunshine and of course some clouds!

There have been some Christmas decorations removed but there are still lots of lights to brighten up the long evenings.

Lots of people still very faithfully walk daily.

Thinking of all the people who are still shut in because of COVID-19 in the RED that are having Birthdays this month that aren't able to have family celebrations.

Because of no news of any happenings, I will end with a quote from Chicken Soup for the Soul, "In their sympathies, children feel nearer to animals than adults, they frolic with animals, caress them, share with them feelings neither has any words for. HAVE THEY EVER STROKED ANY ADULT with THE LOVE THEY BESTOW ON A CAT?" by Jessamyn West.

It has been quite the holiday season with both Christmas and New Year’s celebrated quietly, but it gave us a time to draw closer to our Savior – the real reason for the season!

Now with the colder temperatures coming, our mask-wearing should help in our winter flu season and also will help to prevent us from the virus.

The residents would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG thank you to Ms. Pitz’s Gr. 6 class for the lovely letters and videos. We have not all had the chance to view the videos, but when restrictions get lifted, we will take the time to view them. These letters were very uplifting at a time when most needed. Thanks again!

Also, the residents would like to thank Mary Montgomery School students for the wooden snowmen that they made. We will put them out every Christmas and think about all of you. Thanks again!

This may be a good quote for when we have a bad hair day: “I don’t need a hair stylist, my pillow gives me a new hairstyle every morning.”
