According to Mother’s Day History, more phone calls are made on Mother’s Day than any other day of the year. These holiday chats with Mom often cause phone traffic to spike by as much as 37 percent. This year Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 8. The word Mother is a strong word for those of us who know the meaning, and the power behind the woman who raised us.
This may not be a lot in comparison for all that you do for your kids, but it is a little something that shows how much you mean. Although I am a believer that there doesn’t need to be a reason to give someone flowers and let them know how much they mean to you; this day is the perfect time to do so if you haven’t already this year.
Mothers, oh boy, where to start, well I think a good place to start is the fact that they are the super heroes of our lives. No matter what happens, or how bad you think something is, a mother is always there to pick you up and dust you off when you fall. She is the woman in your life that shows you unconditional love and the one person that will go up to bat for you no matter what. She is your best friend and, well, to be honest, your walking Google of life questions.
I can’t count the number of times that I have called my mother with possibly some of the most ridiculous questions, and for her to be patient and kind and without laughing, (which for the record I have no idea how she managed not to laugh at some of my questions) she would answer and help me figure out how to do something.
So, Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there. You are your kid’s super heroes, you are their stars and the moon. I don’t know how you do what you do, but you are appreciated. Most of all thank-you for my beautiful mother who has, in fact, picked me up and dusted me off every time I fell and most of who always has my back through thick and thin.
