Well done Kelvon Smith on your letter in the August 21, 2015 Empire.
I would think it’s highly unlikely the signs from the movie will remain.
It is so refreshing to see our main street rejuvenated. The Town of Virden and the owners of the buildings along Seventh Avenue and adjacent streets should try to upgrade the facades to make our town more attractive to locals and visitors.
We have great shopping selections in Virden (but no men’s stores) and a more attractive downtown might encourage more folks to stay here and shop locally.
