You Matter

Ever feel like you are fighting a losing battle? That no matter what you do, or don’t do someone is going to disagree with it? This is the part of life I am sure we could all do without.

Ever feel like you are fighting a losing battle? That no matter what you do, or don’t do someone is going to disagree with it? This is the part of life I am sure we could all do without.
I am going to bring us into the hip world for a second, “Haters gonna hate”. I have heard this term numerous times, and I’m not going to lie, I hated it, until I heard my mom use it and I couldn’t help but laugh. That term coming out of my mother’s mouth was too funny. Although, after I heard her say it, it got me thinking about that term, and another term “blocking out the haters”. In today’s society that is exactly what we have to do on a daily basis, exactly what the hip term says, block out the haters.

In saying that, I believe the most powerful things in the world are love and words, but yet we still choose to hate; we could choose to bring people up, but yet we don’t. We choose to judge people based on what we see and what we hear.

If we judged people strictly based on how they treated us and us alone, can you imagine how different this world would be? If you took away looks, society norms, and let people just live their own lives the way they choose and let them be happy with how they lived.

“Treat others how you want to be treated,” this is a quote that has, is, and was continuously told to me by my father. When I was younger I heard the words-they didn’t mean that much to me. I hear the words now and I actually hear them. I understand what they mean and how deep and important the meaning behind them actually is. These words will, and have always stuck with me, and are probably the most important words I have been taught.

When you think your words don’t matter, know they do. Simple words that mean nothing to you could make or break someone else’s world. Even though we are all just one piece of the puzzle in this world, you matter; everything you say and do matters.
