Lynn and Dale Brady are excited to have won $1 million during a recent Lotto Max draw.

Lynn Brady felt a mix of emotions when she scanned her Lotto Max ticket and discovered she had won $1 million on one of the 56 Maxmillions draws on Oct. 26.

The winner, who shared the winning ticket with her husband Dale, first discovered the win on October 31.

“I gave the ticket to the store clerk, and her eyes got really big,” she recalled. “But when I saw the number come up on the screen, I felt completely calm. I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I actually won that much. No way.’”

“Even when the guy standing behind said, ‘You won a million dollars!’ I still didn’t believe it,” she continued. “I never really believed it could happen to us.”

Dale also had a hard time believing their good luck.

“Lynn called to tell me we won,” he said. “I said, ‘Yeah, right. Today is Halloween, not April Fool’s Day.’”

Now that they know their win is real, the happy couple said they have started thinking about what to do with their windfall.

“Christmas is coming up, so we’re going to make sure it’s a nice one,” said Lynn. “More than anything, this win will make our retirement easier, and that’s a great feeling.”

Lynn purchased the couple’s winning ticket at Carlyle Convenience and Gas, located at 101-10 Main Street in Carlyle. Their winning numbers were 4, 21, 24, 26, 27, 28 and 29.
