Thompson Bus, which plans to step and provide bus service to and from Winnipeg when Greyhound shuts down its Western Canadian operations Oct. 31, announced July 27 that they had hired their first employee.
Addie Colbourne, a former Greyhound employee with many years of experience in the transportation industry, was announced as the company’s first employee via their Facebook page.
Thompson Bus told the Thompson Citizen that two buses have been purchased and are due to be delivered to Thompson by mid-August. The company says it is finalizing a location for its headquarters and that the only possible barrier to providing limited service as of Sept. 1 as planned is obtaining all the necessary government licensing it will need prior to purchasing insurance.
