The Cougars travelled to Northern Ontario on the weekend and came away with a 4-point weekend. The results move the Cougars to a record of 23-11-1 for 45 points and in a dead lock with the Thrashers and Pembina Valley with one point separating the three teams.

 

Saturday night the Cougars trounced the Thistles 11-0. Brayden Knox led the way with a hat trick. Braeden Lewis scored twice and added two assists. Kain Shearer, Zach Turner, Dexter Whittle, Matthew Ramsey scored and had a pair of helpers, Colten Miller had a goal and an assist from Hunter Wallace.

Myles Sobry had three helpers, Jacob Dolomont, Luke Robson and Dolomont had a pair of assists. Cody Gudnason chipped in with one assist.

Eric Reid turned aside 14 shots for the shutout. The Cougars fired 68 shots on the Kenora net.

Sunday afternoon was much the same as the Cougars earn a 9-1 win with Kieran Stewart facing 16 shots while the Cougars fired another 61 shots at the Kenora net.

Jordan Boyechko had a goal and three helpers, Nolan Wickham had a goal and two helpers, Turner, Ramsey and Andrew Andries all had a goal and a helper, Wallace had a pair of goals.

Sobry chipped in four helpers with Shearer picking up a couple of apples. Dexter Whittle and Colton Miller also had helpers.

The Cougars host Parkland in Carberry on Friday night, and then play host to the Winnipeg Bruins on Saturday night in Souris.
