Elks make home opener a special day for young players


What a great home opener for the Senior Elks hockey club when they hosted Pilot Mound on November 3!

The Elks came out winners 4-1 over the Pilot Mound Hounds. Game sponsor was Integra Tire Souris. Youth gate ticket $10 sponsored by Fallcon Enterprises was won by Cruz Kliever. The adult gate ticket prize of $25 gift card from Pembina Co-op was not redeemed and will be added to next home game adult door prize. Designated shooter Andrew Hamilton did not score so $25 gift card from LT’s Corner Store will be carried over to next game. Lesley Chudley won the $136.00 50/50 and donated it back to the Souris Elks.

The Elks invited the two Souris initiation teams to play during the first intermission. The team provided the youngsters with a hot dog, drink, and bag of candy, tour of the dressing room, intermission speech from the coach and a win in the hockey game. All the young players were full of smiles.

The next home game is Friday, November 15 against the Deloraine Royals. See you at the rink.
