Golden weekend for Virden’s Club West U13 girls
On March 3, the Club West U13 team travelled to Kipling, Sask. to take part in the Wheat Land Volleyball Club U13 Tournament. The team went through the round robin undefeated with wins against Wheat Land Attack, Estevan Extreme, and Weyburn. We then met Estevan again in the finals and defeated them in two straight sets to capture the gold medal.
Club West 15s win Westman Invitational
Club West 15s put it all together on the weekend to win their fourth straight tournament and their first in Manitoba.
The girls finished first in their pool going 3 and 1 in round robin play.
They then moved into the quarter finals against Cats South, defeating them 25-12 and 25-7.
Club West then took on their closest rival, Cats Gold, a team that had their number last year. The girls came out flying, winning 25-17, 24-26 and 15-7.
Following those wins, they got to play Big Sand in the final and it was all West with scores of 25-15 and 25-17.
Our team split into two teams over the weekend with our second team coming in fifth, losing to Big Sand in the semi-finals.
