The Cougars hosted the Rangers Friday night picking up their seventh win in a row with a convincing 9-2 route. The Cougars game with the Bruins Saturday night was postponed. It has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Souris.

The Cougars ended the weekend in fifthplace with 49 points, five points behind the Thrashers and Pembina Valley. The Cougars host the Thrashers on Saturday night and visit Pembina Valley on Sunday.

Friday night in Carberry Hunter Wallace opened the scoring from Myles Sobry. Zach Turner made it 2-0 from Braeden Lewis and Wallace.

Early in the second Kain Shearer opened the scoring from Cody Gudnason and Lewis, before the Rangers had a couple of point shots 30 seconds apart, midway through the period, to beat Kieran Stewart. This made the game close.

The third period saw the Cougars come out firing from everywhere, pumping in six goals for the win. Wallace scored his second of the night on the power play from Zach Turner and Lewis. Luke Robson then scored from a crazy angle with an unassisted marker. Shearer put his point shot in for his second of the night from Sobry and Wallace. Lewis then scored a pair with Matthew Ramsey, Wallace, Jacob Dolomont, and Brayden Knox picking up assists. Next, Jordan Boyechko potted his league leading 28th goal of the year from Trever Hunt and Owen Harris to finish the scoring.

Wallace and Lewis both finished with a pair of goals and three assists. Kieran Stewart finished the night with 18 saves while the Cougars fired 42 at Liam Jardine in the Rangers net.

Braeden Lewis was named the Subway player of the game.
