The ACC Cougars compete at the American Collegiate Hockey League Division II level. Frederick, a skilled forward, was recently named to the ACHA All-American Second Team. When asked what the honour means to her, Frederick said:

“It meant that hard work does pay off and knowing that I was noticed and picked for the Second All-American Team is a really great feeling.”

Stellar rookie season

A former Yellowhead Chiefs midget AAA player (female league), Frederick had a stellar rookie season for the Cougars. She was second on the team in points with 27, including 11 goals, in 25 games.

The successful ACC squad earned a spot in the ACHA Division II women’s tournament in Columbus, Ohio. The team went 2-1 at the event. Frederick recorded three goals and five points in three games.

“I enjoyed spending a week with my teammates,” Frederick said. “It was a really cool experience being able to go to nationals. Being there and not winning the championship taught me about what it will take for next year, so I felt that I learned something valuable and can reflect on it for next season.”

Frederick is looking forward to next season. “I’m excited to come back and I’m ready for hockey to start up again,” she said. “I’m excited for what next season will bring and hopefully we can finish what we started next year!”
