Reid Gow has joined the Oil Capitals coaching staff. Gow, a Killarney product, will balance his new coaching duties with his work at Farm Credit Canada.

“Reid will take part in practices when he can … and be at games to evaluate when time permits for him,” said Jamie Hodson, Director of Business and Hockey Operations, in a team release. “He will be more in the skills teaching as this is where some of his passion really gravitates to.

“He will be a great connect for our team as they will have an ability to relate to Reid very well with that limited age gap.”

Only 24, Gow has an impressive hockey resume. He played in the Western Hockey League with Spokane and Brandon. Gow also spent time with the University of Manitoba and attended the St. Louis Blues training camp.

Earlier in his career, he played midget AAA for the Southwest Cougars, who were coached by Leslie. Gow also coached with the Southwest bantam AAA team last season.
