There was nothing wishy-washy about the VCI Golden Bears 43-0 win over their opponents, the Parkwest Outlaws of Shoal Lake, last Friday, Sept. 7.
The teams were playing in the annual season opener, the Tundra Bowl, on Outlaws turf.
Despite Shoal Lake’s home field advantage, it was all about the Bears.
The lopsided contest may have been a little bittersweet as this is the last Tundra Bowl for the Grade 12 players, but it was a strong kick off to a brand new season of Rural Manitoba Football League action.
On Thursday, Sept. 13, the Bears stayed strong and brought down the Souris Southwest Sabres by a score of 38-7 in Virden.
