Despite tackles on Dauphin like this one, the VCI Golden Bears Football team lost their Sunday afternoon game on home turf to the Clippers 17-8. The final two regular season games are both in Virden: Oct. 11 and Oct. 18 against Moosomin.

The VCI Golden Bears football team has been playing well this season, despite losing many important players from last year.

They have played five games so far, defeating the Park West Outlaws at home on September 6, and the Neepawa Tigers on September 27. Unfortunately, they lost to the SouthWest Sabres, Interlake Thunder, and Dauphin Clippers on September 13, 19, and October 6, respectively.

Their next game will be this Friday, October 11, at home. They are hoping to pull off a win against the undefeated Swan Valley Tigers. Following this game, the Moosomin Generals come to town on October 18.

Volleyball

The Varsity Girls Volleyball team has been successful so far in their season, as they are currently ranked 3rd in the province for AAA Volleyball.

They have won two games and lost one in the Brandon League, placed fourth in the Massey Tournament, and third in the Maples tournament.

The Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball team is also currently ranked third in the province for AAA Volleyball. They recently won their last two tournaments in Dauphin and at home.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest in boys volleyball, there has only been one team formed. They have not yet played a game, but they have started to become stronger after lots of practice.
