Virden Oil Kings in middle of standings

In the NCHL Virden Oil Kings were at home last Friday night, Dec. 8. In Tundra Oil & Gas Place the Oil Kings defeated the Foxwarren Falcons 7-4.

As of press time in the nine team league, the Oil Kings are mid-point in the standings with three wins, two losses, just behind Miniota-Elkhorn who have three wins, one loss.

In upcoming play the Oil Kings play in Shoal Lake against the newest team in the league, Shoal Lake Eagles, Dec. 22. Next evening, Dec. 23 Virden the Oil Kings are at home to league leaders, Grandview Comets.

During the Christmas week, Dec. 28 is another Virden home game for the Oil Kings playing Shoal Lake Eagles. The Oil Kings’ last game of 2017 is in Minitonas against the Swan Valley team, who currently are in second place in the nine-team league.

The league consists of one division with each team playing a home-and-home series against each of the other teams for a 16-game schedule.
