This summer, I was lucky to be able to attend the Royal Canadian Legion’s Athletic Camp at the International Peace Gardens and it proved to be a very interesting and informative experience.

Doug and Nicky Roach are in Lloydminster, SK this weekend watching their two daughters, Mackenzie and Brooklyn, play in the U18 (Under 18) Western Girl’s Fastball Championships.

An opportunity arose for communities to apply for federal funding towards projects related to Canada’s 150th birthday celebration in 2017. The project the Town of Virden submitted met the qualifications.

Thirty-two golfers took part on a hot Saturday, July 25. The tournament play was 9 holes Best Score, 9 holes Best Ball and 9 holes Alternate Shot. A delicious meal was served by the Clubhouse staff following the golf.
