No Liberal candidates yet in two Westman ridings

It’s an unusual situation, considering the Liberals have been in power in Ottawa the last four years.

It’s an unusual situation, considering the Liberals have been in power in Ottawa the last four years.

So far, no Liberal candidates have been named yet to run in either Brandon-Souris or Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa – the two ridings that dominate western Manitoba, roughly separated by the TransCanada Highway.

As of this writing Tuesday, Sept. 24, the nominated candidates in these two electoral districts are:

Brandon-Souris candidates:

Ashley Duguay – New Democratic Party

Vanessa Hamilton - Independent

Rebecca Hein – Christian Heritage Party

Rob Lussier – People’s Party of Canada

Larry Maguire – Conservative Party of Canada

Bill Tiessen – Green Party of Canada

Dauphin - Swan River – Neepawa candidates:

Frank Godon – People’s Party of Canada

Jenni Johnson – Christian Heritage Party

Laverne Lewycky – New Democratic Party

Daniel Mazier – Conservative Party of Canada

Katharine Storey – Green Party of Canada
