Terry Hayward is the Liberal candidate, just announced, for the federal riding of Brandon-Souris.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25 a Liberal candidate for Brandon-Souris appeared without fanfare on the federal Liberals’ website bringing the total number of contenders for that constituency to seven.

The party’s National Campaign Co-Chair announced the candidacy of Terry Hayward, a long-time resident of Eastern Manitoba who recently ran in the Manitoba election, vying for the Lac du Bonnet seat.

Hayward has a background in agriculture and the foreign service. He has run both federally and provincially four times for the Liberals, always in Eastern Manitoba.

As of this writing, the candidates in Brandon-Souris are:

Ashley Duguay – New Democratic Party

Vanessa Hamilton – Independent

Terry Hayward – Liberal

Rebecca Hein – Christian Heritage Party

Rob Lussier – People’s Party of Canada

Larry Maguire – Conservative Party of Canada

Bill Tiessen – Green Party of Canada

Meanwhile, the riding of Dauphin - Swan River - Neepawa still does not have a Liberal nominee.
