Pies weren't going chap at Miniota's pie auction on Nov. 15! Along with other donations, Miniota Community Centre raised thousands of dollars to replace aging ice scraping equipment.

Murray Welch of Rocky Mountain House spent a few days with his mother Alene after his holiday in Cape Breton with Edy and Wayne Clayton. Alene returned home with him for a week’s visit and with Norma and Don Cole at Red Deer. Norma came home with Alene and enjoyed a week with her mom and sister Edy Clayton.

The residents enjoyed the musical entertainment of Frank Keller and friends on Monday evening followed by a light lunch.

Wishing Vern and Margaret Rollo all the best in their new home in the Evergreen Place in Virden, from the Miniota Community.

The Miniota UCW Fowl supper held on Saturday, Nov. 2 was well attended, with people coming from Birtle, Elkhorn, Hamiota areas as well as one from B.C. making a total of 275.

The Miniota Museum board held their second meeting of the year at Kevin and Kae Lelond's, Nov. 4, with board members Barry Cornish, Sandra Nash, Murray and Bev Peel attending. There was much discussion over all the new things that have been donated to the museum over the summer. One interesting item is the Jack and Mable Stowe family history book.

Parkissimo Lodge board held a meeting on Nov. 5 with members Vickie Late, Pat Cole, Brian Oliver, Mac Lelond, Murray Peel, Rita Armitage, Jenny Askew and Christa Nash attending.

Spud and Steak night, Nov. 15 was well attended, held in the Miniota Community Centre, with entertainment from Hamiota and Kenton called "Prairie Roots”. Later, a pie auction brought many dollars, plus several other donations, to help pay for a new second-hand Zamboni to use whenever it gets cold enough to make ice in the hockey rink!

The ACW Bazaar was held on Saturday, Nov. 16 with a good number of people of all ages attending.

Sympathy from the Miniota Community to all the Taylor families in the passing of Bud Taylor in Brandon, formerly of the Oak Lake district on Nov. 16.
