Cool damp weather did not detour a large amount of people from attending the West-Man Nursing Home fundraiser barbecue, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the facilities yard on Sept. 14. The fundraiser was put on by the home’s dedicated staff and volunteers such as Davis Houston, to raise money for activities for the residents.
The barbecue served hamburgers, hotdogs, cookies, and drinks. Tents were set up with picnic tables for patrons to eat under.
Activities Supervisor Kathy Houston says,” We are very pleased with the amount of funds raised at the barbecue.” The funds raised will go towards paying for entertainment such as old time bands which come to the home to perform for residents.
