It was very nice to see the young ladies of Kenton serving the crowd. Good job ladies.

People gathered at the Kenton Memorial Hall at 10:30 a.m. to start the Kenton and Area Lions Club Car Rally. At the end of the rally, questionnaires were checked, as well as poker hands to declare the winners.

The winners of the rally were: 1st Roma Stevenson, 2nd Scott Routledge, and 3rd Wyatt Black. The winner of the questionnaire was the Dallas Gray vehicle. Approximately 150 hands were sold.

There was a Kenton Community Park Project Kids Fair behind Kenton Memorial Hall. For $5.00 the kids could participate in Giant Bubbles, Painting, Crafts, Volcano Construction, Face Painting, and Stick and Yarn Art. Nicole Wilson organized this event. Devon Caldwell led a Yoga session behind the Hall. Good job.

During the celebrations of the day, the Kenton Legion Clubroom and Patio were open.

The Harding Agricultural Society held their 30th Annual Pit Barbecue Beef/Pork supper. It was a very delicious supper, and a lot of visiting took place among those in attendance.

Following supper Robin Hill of Lenore auctioned off the leftover beef/pork roasts and buns. It was a great fundraiser for the Ag Society.

Kenton Community Park Project/KCE took place at the Kenworth Dam. There was swimming and crafts available; along with live music provided by Martin Finnie, Henry and Nicole Wilson, Sheena Blanchard, Danny and Trisha Turner (who looked after the sound system). David Caldwell played along with the music group Rollin' and Tumblin', Brett Hemrica, Cameron Nolan and Hayden Crampain. At dusk there was a bonfire and a display of fireworks. A big bouquet from the community, for all those who organized events and took part in the festivities as well. We will look forward to celebrations again next year.

Visitors with Edward and Beth Lelond over the long weekend were James and Liz Hargrave, Hudson, Alec, Savannah and Isabelle from Walsh, Alberta.

Wayne and Susan Poppel, and Jeff and Ashleigh Poppel, Mason, Emmett and Noah were happy to have Laura Poppel of Calgary home for a short visit.
