Is anyone out there interested in purchasing our new History Book? We want everyone to pre-order so that we know how many books to get printed. We don’t want to have a lot left over, so please get your order in. Also, we don’t want anyone to be disappointed. The history book will cover the previous RM of Miniota including: Arrow River, Beulah, Crandall, Isabella, and Miniota. There will be a lot of reading in this book. To pre-order you can send a cheque for the deposit of $50 payable to: Prairie View Municipality, and mail it to Bridging the Years Box 145 Miniota, MB R0M 1M0. We will be taking orders until Jul. 31, 2017. Don’t be disappointed – get your order in soon.
Another successful Shirtsleeve Summer Classic was held over the weekend of Aug. 14. The community centre really appreciates how willing everyone was to help out in any way. It was great to see many people “come home” for the celebration.
Congratulations to Breeanna Cousins and Andrew Sieklicki who were married in Brandon on Jul. 15. Many friends and family from Miniota attended the celebration.
Miniota’s 10th Annual Tractor Pull Results
Miniota’s 10th Annual Antique Tractor Pull was held on Sunday Jul. 16, in conjunction with the Miniota’s Shirt Sleeve Classic.
There were 24 tractors that showed up to take part in the pull.
Awards were given as followed:
5,000 lbs + Under Class
1st – Kyle Gurr of Miniota
2nd – Robert Darker of Beulah
6,000 lbs + Under Class
1st- Murray Gurr of Miniota
2nd- Kyle Gurr of Miniota
7,000 lbs + Under Class

8,000 lbs + Under Class

Most of the residents had a good time at the Virden parade on July 1st. Garry Cochorane fixed up a float. Verna Pennycook and Irene Rowand went along for the ride, and tossed out candy for the young, and young at heart. Many of the residents also enjoyed the activities in the park.
July 3rd, the residents took pleasure in a wiener-roast supper to celebrate July 1st. It was a very delightful evening of visiting.
We welcome Phyllis Janzen to our home. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Ethel Walton, and her daughter Gloria, attended her grandson’s wedding on Saturday. Ethel’s nephew, Allan from BC, visited for the week; and visited his dad Wes Williams in the Westman home.
