Jessie Thiessen’s visitors were Richard and Kathy Klassen from Kola and her son John and Adella Thiessen from Maryfield.

Sherald Joynt’s granddaughter Janine Ketterer is visiting from Germany.

We had a Chicken Chef for supper on Tuesday evening – much enjoyed by all.

Francis Lansing brought her summer school pupils to entertain us. We played bingo, bean bag toss, had cookies and drinks, then went outside to view the garden on their way home.

The residents enjoyed the rodeo parade Saturday morning.

Faye Hi-Eagle and family picked up Irene Rowand and went to the Red Barn in Moosomin for supper on Sunday evening. Irene’s sister Lynn Garvey joined them for supper.

Thank you to everyone who is bringing us fresh vegetables. Much enjoyed by those of us who are unable to grow our own.

 

 

Princess Lodge

Joyce Heaman accompanied Norma Millar to Nipawin, SK to visit with Marilyn Kinnear and Calvin and returned home Sunday, Jul. 30.

The residents have been enjoying the extra produce that the gardeners have so generously contributed to the Lodge over this past summer.

On Monday morning, Aug. 14, a couple of people from the Fire Commissioner’s Office presented a seminar in the Lounge regarding fire safety tips and accidental falls.

Fran Lansing and her day-care kids came on Monday afternoon to the lounge and played bingo and bean bag toss with the residents. The children handed out snacks to us provided by Audry Watters of S.S.G.L. The seniors enjoyed participating with the young ones.

Friday, Jul. 21 at Harding Fair, Kenton and Area Lions Club held a raffle draw for a gift certificate to Elkhorn Ranch or a cash prize. Keith Bennett of Kenton won the cash prize. Also the Woodworth Millennium Museum held a raffle draw for a Summer BBQ package and the winner was Cheryl Cormack of Brandon. Sincere appreciation to all who purchased tickets and supported these causes.

Thursday, Aug. 17, 9:00 a.m, at the RM of Wallace-Woodworth Council Chambers people gathered to hear the announcement of the winners for the Kenton Beautification Contest. They are as follows: Most Patriotic Yard-Craig and Marianne Whyte;  Best Vegetable Garden-Robert and Dianne Alexander; Most Improved Yard-Denis Lacroix; Most Colourful Street-Harvey Avenue; Best Overall Yard-Wilma and Evan Bell. Gerry Nolan announced the winners and presented them with their trophies. Carole-Ann Brethour took pictures. After the presentations refreshments were served.
