Every Child Matters Unity Ride 2023 began Sept. 25, travelling to Waywayseecappo First Nation, Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, and Sioux Valley Dakota Nation with stops at the Birtle Residential School and Elkhorn Residential School. The ride concluded at the Brandon Residential School on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The ride was initiated last year, and this year riders, walkers, runners and wagons from these communities, as well as Canupawakpa Dakota Nation made the week-long trek.
