During the week of Nov. 1 to Nov. 7 the Westman RCMP dealt with 53 police activities and were dispatched to the following locations:
Nov. 1 – Sioux Valley for a report of a historical sexual assault. The investigation is ongoing.
Nov. 2 – While making patrols on Highway 1 at Virden, a vehicle was located travelling 137 km/h entering the 80 km/h zone. A roadside stop was initiated, and it was determined the vehicle driver was operating the vehicle while prohibited to do so. The 43-year-old driver was arrested and released on a future court date.
Nov. 2 – Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated male in the bush. The male was located, arrested and transported to the Virden detachment as he was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was released the following morning when sober.
Nov. 2 – Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated 19-year-old male threatening self-harm. He was located and transported to hospital via ambulance.
Nov. 3 – the liquor store in Virden for a report of a theft of Bacardi White Rum. A photo of the suspect was obtained. Anyone with information pertaining to this theft is encouraged to contact the Virden RCMP detachment.
Nov. 4 – the RM of Pipestone for a report of a domestic assault. After investigation, it was determined that an assault did occur. A warrant of arrest is being sought for the accused.
Nov. 5 – the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a stolen ATV. The stolen ATV is a 2003 Suzuki Ozark. The ATV is still outstanding.
Nov. 6 – the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a domestic assault. After investigation, a 50-year-old male was arrested. He was released on a future court date on the condition that he have no contact or communication with the victim.
Nov. 6 – a residence outside of Virden for a report of a disturbance. A 28-year-old female was located with Bear Spray on her person. She was also on conditions to not have contact with the owners of the residence. She was remanded into custody.
11 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
