Last summer Brooks Freeman was approached by Laurel Lamb, Recreation Director for Prairie West Recreation (PWR), to design a new logo for their 40year anniversary.

Freeman started designing the logo in July 2016, and after quite a few revisions, he had a finished design in fall of 2016. He chose the sun in the background to represent getting outdoors to participate in recreation. The sun has forty points, one point for each year the PWR has provided services to the Virden area.

“I was really glad I was chosen to design the PWR logo,” says Freeman, “it gave me an opportunity to get my work known in town.”

Freeman, in Grade 12, will graduate from Virden Collegiate Institute in June of this year. After graduation he plans to attend Assiniboine Community College, to pursue a two year diploma in Digital Media Design.
