Canadian Red Cross seeks deserving Manitoban humanitarians

(WINNIPEG, April 5, 2018) – Nominations are now open for the eighth annual Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian and Young Humanitarian of the Year Awards.

The Red Cross encourages Manitobans to nominate members of their community who make a difference through their continuing dedication to volunteerism, advocacy and philanthropy.

“The Humanitarian of the Year Awards honours the power of humanity. We recognize and celebrate the very best that Manitobans have to offer – our big hearts, our great spirit and our willingness to help those in need,” said Shawn Feely, vice-president, Manitoba and Nunavut, Canadian Red Cross.

Nominee criteria and nomination forms are online at www.redcross.ca/manitobapoh. The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2018. The Young Humanitarian Award is open to anyone under 29 years of age.

The 2018 Humanitarian of the Years Awards are presented at the Canadian Red Cross Power of Humanity luncheon, at the Fairmont Winnipeg, on Sept. 7, 2018. Ticket information will soon be available at www.redcross.ca/manitobapoh.
