It was a meeting of East and West classic car owners recently at the Elkhorn Auto Museum.

A convoy of vintage and classic vehicles from the Kenosee Lake car club and a smaller convoy of vehicles from Brandon area car clubs met at Elkhorn for a tour of the museum’s collection, the century farmhouse, one-room schoolhouse and an on-site barbecue lunch catered by volunteers from the museum restoration club.

Both clubs traveled along the TransCanada Highway to get to the museum, making some minor stops along the way.

Museum curator Richard Hainer gave tours of the car collections and workshop areas. Later several members of the group of over 75 people made a visit to Tutthill Construction, to see the recently restored steam tractor owned by Lynn Tutthill.

The club brought out a variety of cars that included classics, hot rods and vintage, which a few members of the public came out to see.

Mr.Hainer said the mini event brought out a good crowd who were very happy with the lunch, the tour and were surprised with the variety and number of cars in the museum’s collection.

The Kenosee Lake groups, before leaving, presented a financial donation to the museum to help with its operation and projects. The Kenosee Car club leader, Kevin Wilson said he was pleased with the day and hope to bring another tour group back next year.Car club meet
