Creation speaker in Virden to challenge evolutionary view

Virden Alliance Church is holding a Creation Ministries International (CMI) presentation during their Sunday morning service on Oct. 15.

Virden Alliance Church pastor Dr. Simeon Norton says this is an opportunity for anyone looking for answers to some of life’s tough questions to hear what Tom Tripp, with CMI, has to say.

“Does God exist? How can anyone believe in religion when science has neither a need nor a place for God? Is evolution happening today? If God is a God of love, why do we suffer and die?”

Tom Tripp has been a presenter for CMI for a number of years. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and an MA in Biblical Creation Apologetics. Biographical information indicates that while Tripp began to follow Christ at a young age, he had questions that stemmed from theories of evolution that didn’t jive with the record of creation in Genesis. He has found answers that he shares with others.

Tripp worked for a large mining company (INCO, now Vale) for 35 years as a lab analyst, a computer programmer, and an HR trainer. He and his wife Bev are Canadians who relocated from B.C. to the Maritimes. They have six grandchildren.

Virden is one of several locations on Tripp’s tour of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. His presentations usually last 50-60 minutes complete with PowerPoint presentations. He likes to include an opportunity for question & answer time.

Norton affirms that this is an issue that affects everyone. “Evolution teaches us there is no need for God, there is no spiritual realm, and there is no afterlife. According to the theory, spirituality is just an evolutionary trick of the mind!”

Norton promises that the CMI presentation by Tom Tripp will show that the Bible gives a very different picture of the nature of these things and will expose the bankruptcy of the evolutionary theory. “You'll be amazed to see how weak the scientific evidence for evolution is,” says Norton.

At 9:43 a.m. Tom Tripp's presentation will take a look at which history best explains dinosaurs: Creation or Evolution?

At 11:00 a.m. the presentation will consider: climbing the creation-evolution ladder: which side is more stable?

There is no admission charge. Following the presentation, a freewill offering will be collected for CMI. A Potluck Lunch will follow.
