Family Run Business Celebrates 45 Years

Multiple services in one location

Cromer Valley Store is a family run business that was established in 1977. In 2008, Kent Duncalfe and his wife Brenlee took over as proprietors. The Duncalfes serve as third generation owner/operators at this popular country store.

“We have 10 employees that work for us and most of them are full-time staffers,” says Duncalfe. Brenlee’s grandfather purchased the store from Albert Barrie and the Duncalfes insist their values have remained the same throughout the years, and they attribute their success to these values.

Nestled in the Pipestone Valley in the southwest corner of Manitoba, Cromer Valley Store continues to supply quality goods and services to the surrounding farming community and industrial and oilfield sectors. There is also an in-store bakery which offers daily fresh baked breads, buns, pastries, and pizzas.
On Oct. 20, the Cromer Store will be presenting a Milwaukee Demo Day featuring Milwaukee tools. Experts will demonstrate their skills and expertise using this well known product line.

“We are also very busy with our embroidering which we use to apply business names, worker’s names and company logos on clothing and hats for businesses and corporations around the area,” adds Duncalfe.
There is also an area upstairs where they keep their overflow of fire-retardant coveralls and safety wear for the oil patch workers and farmers.

Along with managing the store and providing customer service, Kent is also the Canada Post postmaster. The postal outlet is tucked neatly in the corner of the store and consists of approximately 100 mailboxes.

Right in the heart of the oil industry, Cromer Valley store maintains its stock for the agricultural and oil field workers and assures their rotational supply of hardware, clothing, seasonal supplies and postal needs are always on hand.
Their hard work and prompt service has made this rural community store a one-stop shop and many people take advantage of all they have to offer.
