On the morning of April 4 at 1:00 a.m., firefighters from Virden station were dispatched to a truck fire west of Virden. The truck was fully involved on arrival and was quickly extinguished. The owner had just arrived home when he noticed smoke coming from the truck. There was no other property damage and no injuries. The truck and contents were a total loss. Fire chief Brad Yochim states there is no definite cause of this fire at this time. Vehicle fires are investigated by MPI.
