It wasn't a full fledged fire but when the alarm goes off, the fire crew leaves what they're doing and leaps into action.
The Wallace District Fire Department in Virden came to a call where a smoke alarm was set off. Smoke alarms save lives and are not to be ignored, but sometimes it's just burnt toast. That's the best case senario.
After attending this alarm at the Scott Block Apartments on Nelson Street, Fire Chief Tyson Van Eaton reported that burnt food in one of the suites resulted in the alarm being activated and his crew set up a ventilation fan to clear the air.
