Sunshine and children's laughter set the scene at the Grand Opening of the Reston Splash Pad on Thursday, June 28.
Hundreds gathered for fun in the sun and a complimentary barbecue sponsored by council with RBC helping serve. Sunrise credit union supplied balloons and games for the children. Meanwhile RM of Pipestone prepared for the much anticipated ribbon cutting.
Rob Schiltroth started off the event by thanking everyone for attending and introducing Reeve Archie McPherson who gave a lovely speech thanking the community, sponsors and the staff at the RM of Pipestone for making this dream a reality.
Following speeches, (shown (l-r): Economic Development Officer Tanis Chalmers, Reeve Archie McPherson, and Jason Lewis, Surface Land Rep for Tundra Oil & Gas posed for photos as they cut the ribbon commemorating the official opening.
The splash pad is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, located next to the campground and golf course. Don't forget to pop into the clubhouse to try out one of their many flavours of ice cream to end off your day!
